Discovery

I remember the first time I dsicovery something unexpected about myself, that i can draw. It was so funny how i found out about my dicovery. My ex boyfriend can draw his life away. I mean he is soo good at drwaing and painting. So he use to draw me pictures in our younger years like every weekend i will get a new picture. So one day i jus saw a picutre of Daffy Duck and drew it. When I was done i amazed myself. I was like wow..Not trying to be cocky or anything but I can draw...lol. Then from there i decided on my major to be a fashion designer. I love fashion and I love to draw so put two and two together. So that discovery has changed my life and has made me who i am today.

Social Trends

1st of i think that social trends are the greatest (well depends on what and where it is). Like star buck for instants, yea i cant get enough of it. Especailly that Carmel Frap ( i think i may get that after i blog this lol). Star bucks its a part of people day like from sun up to sun down. People can not star there day with out it and i cant blame them. Its a bost of energy and its delicious.
Now for all you Golden Arch fans, i dont like McDonalds but there parfays and brekfast are the best, now only the weekends i can live with out it, but on my way to school in the moring i have to get me either a sauge mcgriddle or a steak beagel sandwhich with a large OJ thank you. That what really starts my day, but lunch you can have it after 11 thats gross lol.
Ipods are the best thing that has happen to me. Yeah you that you were cool walking downing the street with this big old walkerman on ya hips lets be serious you know that took up that whole side of your hip and slowed you down, but nobody could tell you nothig lol. Then Mac comes out with this great master of all techologies to me the IPOD...I had it when they first came out you kno the really big one that was like 60 g lol and nobody was really that filmilar with it. Then after my 8th grade year they took of like somebody runing from the police lol... Ipod has never looked backed and i never looke backed at a walkmen...lol...i had the special edition the red and black then the touch came out and some body stole that from me :-(...
Social trends i can say have a great side we use an work with them every day sometimes they help us make our days and lives go by qucik...With out some type of social trend if its wearing your fav leggings on wensday, geting dunkin dougnuts on monday and listen to your fav talk show on tuesday on your to work or school. These social trends is a part of our every day life and they are still contiuing to invole and get better..

Popular Culture

Its so funny how popular culture creates us in a strange way. To the latest shows, music, and technology. Then again at the same time it makes us who we are. Sometimes following a certain trend can helps then sometimes it cant. Its always best to stick to yourself and stay true to you. Yea if u need a lilttel more swagg to spice up your life then thats when your favorite popular culture comes in. Oh dnt try to hard sweety we can figure out if your faking or not. We can tell if your trying to be the next Beyonce or Wyane..LOL..TV shows that we love can help us on our acting skills by following one of our favorite actors or actress but it in a postive why. Create your self and dnt create yourself to become them. Stay TRU to YOU!!! and you will go so far. Then againg at the same time popular culture becomes and creates us in a way.

Hey!!!
My name is Lauren and this is my first semester at Columbia College. Last week was my first week and i enjoyed it alot. All my teachers are cool and nice so far, but i dont think that is going to change. I actualy graduated high school early and wanted to attend college the spring semester. I am from chicago but was raised in Miami and California and came back and forth to chicago. As of right now i stay in the south suburbs. My major here at Columbia is Fashion Design and I am trying to decied if I am going to minor in radio personality or fashion journalism. IDK!!!! I cant wait till the semester goes on so I can meet and mingle with new people.
